About the Panther Pen:
We are the Central York Middle School online literary and news magazine. We encourage submissions relating to artwork, poetry, short stories (including fictional and autobiographical pieces), argumentative pieces, and news articles relating to school events or pop culture. We also feature CYMS learner works. Submissions must be original and created by Central York Middle School learners. Only first names are used for publication. The website will be updated at the end of each month with recent art and literary works.

How to submit:
You should email the submission to [email protected]. You can put it in the body of the email or provide it as an attachment.
Your email should also include your first and last name, your CLC, the title of the work, and the genre of the work.
Make sure to include this statement in your email:
I give the Panther Pen permission to publish this original work on their website. This work has not been published elsewhere. I am the author or creator of this work. I am currently a Central York Middle School learner.
Guidelines for artwork:
Artwork must be in digital format. The picture of the artwork should be high resolution and of good quality. The artwork could have been created for class or leisure.
Guidelines for literary works or news/pop culture articles:
All written works, no matter the genre, may not exceed 2000 words. The written work could have been created for class or leisure.
Guidelines for number of submissions:
You can submit as much as you want for publication!
Panther Pen's rights:
The Panther Pen has the right to determine what will be published.
We expect:
-original work
-edited and proofread work
-school appropriate subjects
-required information in email (see above)
-clear, quality photos of artwork that are not blurry or otherwise distorted
We will let you know via email if your work is not published for not complying with any of the above expectations. We will also notify you via email if we choose to publish your work.
The creators'/authors' rights:
You will maintain the rights to your written work or art piece after publication; however, if you are submitting, we expect to have first rights meaning it shouldn't be published elsewhere prior to publication in the Panther Pen. It should not have printed on another literary/art website or in a newspaper/magazine. Submitting to a teacher for an assignment does not count as publication.
