For a recent Language Arts assignment, we had been covering different calamities and catastrophes that had taken place throughout history. We were to write a ballad of our previously chosen assignment. Once we had written our lines, we had to record ourselves speaking/singing/rapping our ballad over a beat. Many things went into making my song. Writing the actual lyrics was by far the longest part. The process took several days of class work. After that came the music. I wanted my song to be gradual and solemn, yet still have some momentum and beat to it. After trying many different combinations, I settled for the one you hear now. I then recorded myself speak-singing (not very well) my song over the beat. The final product ended up like this. Take a listen. - Ian |
